My newest creation: Svengali Effects- Coming Soon

I was quite disappointed when I visited the new magic kiosk in Alabang Town Center. The old one sadly has just disappeared as if by magic (no pun intended) The staff there were really friendly and there was always a healthy exchange of magic tricks there.

Then there came a new magic kiosk basically selling the same products but the staff were all different. I went there to ask if they had ITR and they just said to me the price and soon the staff there went back promoting their Svengali deck to other people of course leaving me hanging there not even answering my other questions about it.

I was really disappointed on how they promote their products. How dare they say that David Blaine and Eric Mana used Svengali decks into their acts. I mean they are both good magicians that don't need such trick deck for their acts. If you're wondering what tricks could be done with a Svengali deck here's a video of it




As you could see there is really more than one of a "selected" card. However when you use this deck you can never do again the same tricks for the same group of people because the moment you do that everything will be revealed and the trick will be spoiled. Also this deck can never be inspected by the audience.

So in my frustration, I left the kiosk went straight home and started playing with my cards.Then all of a sudden I was struck by inspiration and soon i was creating a new trick already.

I tested the new trick I have invented by showing it to my grandmother. She was really amazed and asked me to do it again. Then she was more amazed with it as I show her that there is really only one of her card and all cards are different.It means that I have no duplicate cards nor short cards in it.So in other words I am successful in using an ordinary deck of cards in doing Svengali Deck Tricks.

I'll be posting a video of my newest masterpiece soon and maybe hopefully I could show that shop that they shouldn't leave customers hanging especially if they are real magicians. I'll show them that their inferior quality Svengali which "cracks" when bent is really no match to a magician who is really dedicated to the craft. Also I want to show them that a magician is very different from staff who merely know how to do the trick.Honestly I'm still annoyed at them and I wish that the old shop would return because the people there are much better and there is a real magician performing there.

A New Template-Again

I asked my girlfriend to check my blog if the layout is good. Then to my surprise it appears weird on Internet explorer. I'm using Mozilla Firefox and when I checked using Internet Explorer, to my horror my blog indeed looked weird. It was an eyesore and immediately I looked for another template that could be read well also in Internet explorer.

As you could see the entries are all leaning to the side as if it was part of the classified ads. Also the sidebar at the right just went straight to the bottom of the blog.

I'm sorry to all the readers who were using Internet explorer. No wonder I got less readers during the past few days. I just hope they'll come back again and experience more of the magic here.

Well that's a lesson learned for me today. I've learned that not all people use the same product as you so you have to adjust to them. Maybe I 'll apply this too in my performances, I would make sure that all who watch me will surely enjoy. After all magicians don't do magic to impress other magicians but to entertain people.

I can't wait to show them my new trick

I just got a new prop that I've ordered in the internet a week ago. Well I chose the cheapest form of shipping that's why it took a week before I got it. The moment it arrived here it wasn't even delivered into my doorstep instead they sent me a note that I must claim it at the post office in the next 30 days. Well it arrived Friday afternoon and too bad Monday was a holiday so I spent the next three days thinking what will I do with my new prop. Maybe I thought about it too much that even in my sleep I could see myself using that prop.

Finally after a long time of waiting I got my new prop and of course the moment I opened it I started to get the feel of it then I proceeded in doing my magic. Of course my first victims were my family. I showed my grandma the trick and she asked me to do it again. Even my youngest brother was amazed of the trick. Every time I would practice it they would always watch me do it.

Do you know what I'm talking about? Well the prop that I bought were sponge balls. I have been actually longing to have my own and luckily I was able to find an online shop MJM Magic that sells at discounted prices and ships their products here in the Philippines. Honestly I'm still perfecting it and hopefully I could add it up to my routine. I can't find yet the proper routine to include this trick maybe after an ace production but that would be too ordinary. I wish someone would help me with this.

Waiting in Vain

I was really happy that I was able to find an online magic shop that sells products with very low prices and ships them here in the Philippines. I have purchased some magic props via internet last August 6, 2008 Wednesday and it was shipped to me via First Class mail international, since it's the only method I could afford. I was hoping that it would arrive yesterday Monday but unfortunately it takes 7-14 days according to their e-mail to me.

Well I have to admit I am really a cheapskate when it comes to buying my props. Imagine they sell products at almost 50% of the original price. I compared this actually with an internet shop which is based in a nearer country. Also buying these stuff via the internet is relatively cheaper than buying them here. Also the quality is better because here you could only buy cheap imitations of most magic props.

I mean I really don't want to spend a lot of money on low quality products right? I mean who would want to do that? Maybe waiting is much better than spending a lot of money on lower quality products.
